St Francis’ House, situated in the picturesque village of Hemingford Grey, is an Anglican retreat House owned by the Community of the Resurrection, whose mother house is at Mirfield in Yorkshire.
In 1985 the building was renovated and re-furbished to provide accommodation in 17 single and 3 twin bedded rooms, centrally heated throughout and hot and cold water in all bedrooms. Five (single) rooms are at ground floor level, and some limited facilities for disabled visitors. St. Francis' House, Hemingford Grey
The Garden at St. Francis' House The House is used for the purpose of ‘Retreat’ and the aim is for a peaceful atmosphere at all times, for all who visit of any denomination to feel welcome and at home, and to receive spiritual refreshment. There is a large garden, and from the village guests can enjoy walks along the river and meadows nearby.

Central to the life of the House is the Chapel on the upper floor. The dining room, lounge, small well stocked library and reading room are on the ground floor.

Parishes, colleges and other organisations make group bookings and usually arrange their own Retreat Director. For ‘Open’ retreats clergy and laity apply as appropriate. (See current retreat list).

Applications should be made to the Warden, and a stamped addressed envelope is appreciated.
